Intellectual Property

• Traditionally protected by copyright laws.
• Illicit copying of analogue material results in quality loss.
• Digital material (movies, music, software, literature...) can be copied perfectly, easily, an infinite number of times, and can be transmitted globally at the click of a mouse.
• How can digital content creators ensure they receive their due rewards?
• In the extreme will we simply stop producing intellectual property due to lack of incentive?
• New models, eg open source software?
